How Dysport ® & Botox Cosmetic ® Works
Dysport ® and Botox Cosmetic ® are sterile, small doses, of a purified protein. Injections of very small amounts of this purified protein block the transmission of acetylcholine, which relaxes the muscle. By relaxing the muscle, the lines in the overlying area are softened. There is no effect on sensory nerves, so the treated area(s) should feel normal. What to Expect
The entire treatment is 10-15 minutes and requires no downtime. A very tiny needle is used to increase patient comfort. Bruising is a possibility with any injections, but is quite rare when injecting Dysport ® or Botox Cosmetic®. Results typically last 3-5 months.
