Dr. J.D. McCoy was the third physician in the country to treat patients, and has completed more cases than anyone in Arizona. Using this unique delivery method of radiofrequency energy for fat contouring and skin tightening is cutting edge and revolutionary. This approach offers a number of advantages for our patients. Dr. McCoy believes that this is the biggest breakthrough technique available for contouring small areas of fat and/or tightening skin- especially the neck and jaw line. How Smooth-RF Works
During treatment, the Smooth-RF device precisely heats the fat and the collagen layer of the skin using a tiny blunt probe. As the inner layer is heated, the fat cells melt instantly when the tissue reaches the target temperature. Also, the heat promotes the creation of new collagen- some contraction/tightening is immediate. Smooth-RF is the ONLY procedure with precise temperature control that allows us to melt fat and tighten skin safely and quickly. This is the most exciting innovation for small target areas, especially the neck and chin.
What to Expect
Most people tolerate Smooth-RF treatments well and have little or no discomfort. Depending on the size of the treated area, the procedure may take up to 60 minutes. Patients report that the treatment is easy and comfortable. Following treatment you can immediately resume routine activities. Slight swelling is normal. Patients notice a significant improvement in the treated area after just one treatment.
