THREADLIFT & PDO THREADLIFT

What is a Threadlift and PDO Threadlift?

A Threadlift uses surgical sutures to provide a subtle, natural lift. This is ideal for a patient that wants to avoid more invasive surgery and doesn’t have a significant amount of loose skin. This approach is minimally invasive, uses a permanent suture, and does require some downtime. The new PDO Threadlift uses a temporary suture/thread that replaces the older technique for most patients. PDO (polydioxanone) sutures are used in heart surgery and fully absorb over 4 to 6 months.

The Benefit of Threadlift and PDO Threadlift

Traditional Threadlift uses a permanent suture for permanent results and can be challenging to reverse. The procedure is minimally invasive but aggressive and requires only 5-7 days of downtime. PDO Threadlift uses sutures that absorb into the skin, resulting in long-lasting but non-permanent results that are reversible if desired. Results improve over 2-4 months with collagen stimulation from the thread.

Conditions
Treated

Threadlift and PDO Threadlift provide a subtle, natural lift for those without a significant amount of loose skin.

Downtime
Needed

As a mildly invasive procedure, you can expect 5-7 days of downtime as swelling decreases.

What to
Expect

Traditional Threadlift provides immediate and permanent results. With PDO Threadlift, you will see improved results over 2-4 months, and results typically last for two years.

What to Expect From Treatment

The treatment takes only a few minutes. The procedure requires only a local anesthetic, and patients are very comfortable. The threads are inserted through tiny injection sites that don’t require stitches. Patients should expect 5 to 7 days of slight swelling, but typically the post-treatment swelling looks good. Many patients have no noticeable swelling the day after the treatment. Any swelling or minimal bruising is often better after two days – most patients have no bruising at all. Part of the key to a home run with threads is combination treatment with facial volume. Dr. McCoy prides himself as one of the most skilled Arizona physicians performing the PDO Threadlift at Contour Medical.
