How Threadlift Works
The procedure requires only local anesthetic. Patients are very comfortable and there is minimal discomfort. The threads are inserted through tiny injection sites that typically don’t even require stitches and are totally hidden by the hairline. There is no scarring around the ear or other obvious signs of treatment. The threads move the deep tissue of the area to be lifted, in the direction of the insertion point. After “lifting” the area, the micro-trauma of the movement heals like any wound, maintaining the lift for years.
What to Expect
The treatment takes 60 minutes. Initially after the procedure, the treated area will appear too tight. This is normal, since the tissue relaxes over the first couple weeks post treatment. Patients should expect 5 to 7 days of downtime and must restrict activity during this time-period. There is swelling and minimal bruising.
