JD McCoy on Halo Resurfacing
*Individual Results May Vary
The Halo is the game changer in laser resurfacing. It’s the only “hybrid” laser that has integrated ablative (surface) and non-ablative (below surface) technology. The combination reduces pore size, improves texture and fine lines, and reduces sun damage and unwanted pigment. The skin glows after Halo — with minimal to no downtime or discomfort. Contour Medical was chosen as one of the early clinics in the entire country to launch the Halo, and Dr. McCoy is a national trainer and speaker for the Halo procedure. The Halo, at Contour Medical in Gilbert, Arizona, is the most cutting-edge alternative to aggressive resurfacing with minimal discomfort and downtime.
- Minimal downtime — life as usual after your treatment
- Minimal discomfort — short-lived post treatment heat like a sunburn
- Reduced pores, fine lines, and sun damage/pigment
- More radiant and youthful skin
- For most any skin type
How Halo Works
This is an “intelligent” device that is measuring skin temperature, adjusting two lasers simultaneously, and cooling the skin at the same time. The engineering and technology used in the Halo at Contour Medical, in Gilbert, Arizona, is a huge step forward in laser resurfacing — this truly individualizes the treatment for the patient’s skin type and issues. We can focus on pigment, texture/wrinkles/pores, or both. Halo delivers energy deep into the tissue, leaving the surface intact, while also allowing us to tune a superficial laser that speeds the healing time. This combination is highly customizable and is arguably the most advanced laser treatment available.
What to Expect
The sensation of the treatment is a warm, “static” feeling, that patients describe as “annoying”, but not painful. Sensation is minimized since we apply a topical numbing agent prior to treatment, and the active treatment time is under 15 minutes. You can treat the face, neck and chest, but the body can be treated too. The protocol is typically one or two treatments, months apart. There may be slight redness and minimal swelling after the treatment — most patients look like they have a suntan or a bit too much sun post-treatment. A water-based, elegant cream is used after the Halo (no greasy balms or complicated care). A complimentary consultation on the Halo at Contour Medical in Gilbert, Arizona, will help individualize your laser resurfacing treatment plan with the Halo.
